How to challenge the Senior Leadership Team

Target audience:

Outline of event:

Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils is one of the three core functions of every governing board. This event will explore the core principles of governance and will cover:

• Setting the vision, ethos and strategic vision
• Aspects of successful governance
• Financial effectiveness
• How to hold Senior Leaders to account
• Gathering evidence
• What if things go wrong

This event will be facilitated by Jean Pickerill and is free to members of ERPLG on the 26th November 2018.

Learning and Teaching Outcomes:

As a result of attending this training governors will be able to:

- Apply the three core functions of effective governance
- Explain the strategic, critical friend and accountability roles
- Identify the importance of the governing board working together in ensuring the best possible education for every child
- Understand how to challenge and support the Senior Leadership Team

We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
