Dealing with Complaints/Appeals to the Governing Board

Outline of event:

This event is provided through the National Governors Association (NGA). Training provided by the NGA is delivered by carefully recruited and quality assured consultants.

The purpose of this training is to inform governors about how to approach panel work, be it hearing formal complaints, reviewing exclusions, or dealing with disciplinary issues.

This event will take place on Tuesday 2 October 2018 at County Hall from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Learning and Teaching Outcomes:

After completing this session participants will gain a greater understanding of:
- The legal position
- The policy and procedures required and how they should be used
- The role of the local authority
- How panels are set up
- The paperwork that should be provided
- How the hearing should be conducted
- The role of the governors, headteacher, and clerk

We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
