Demonstrating Progress
Target audience:
Headteachers
Outline of event:
This training event focuses on exploring ways in which senior leaders can demonstrate and articulate progress. Those schools which are in the Ofsted window for a section 8 visit would find the training of particular value. The training is a re-run of the 'Measuring Progress' CPD from 2017/18.
The sessions will include a focus on 2018 outcomes; progress measures and FFT information, guidance on what an Ofsted inspector considers when evaluating progress and exploring ways which progress can be demonstrated through in house tracking for core subjects for all year groups as well as progress across foundation subjects and the curriculum. There will be an opportunity within the session for Headteachers to reflect on current practise in their school and will be required to bring an updated SEF, information regarding 2018 outcomes and recent tracking information.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
To develop a secure understanding of how progress is measured using summary data.
• To develop effective tracking systems which allow leaders to demonstrate progress in each individual school and articulate this within self-evaluation.
• To understand how Ofsted collects evidence and make judgments about progress across the curriculum.
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
Preparation:
Headteachers will need to bring the following to the training:
Updated SEF
ASP, IDSR and FFT dashboards
FFT estimates for Y2 and Y6
Entry information for EYFS
Most recent tracking information for all year groups including information for vulnerable groups
