First Aid for Schools and Educational Visits
Open to all school and youth service staff who would like quality first aid training
Outline of event:
FULL DAY - This popular 6 hr first aid course has been designed specifically for the needs of schools and youth leaders. The course is certificated and regulated by one of the UK's leading training providers and awarding bodies(ITC) and certificates are valid for 3 years. From 1st Oct 2013, the HSE no longer regulates first aid providers, and it is the responsibility of employers to ensure that providers are competent and deliver training courses that are appropriate for their needs. The HSE provides employers with a due diligence checklist, but states that if awarding organisations (like ITC) offer regulated qualifications, employers do not have to use the checklist to satisfy themselves of the competency of that organisation.
The course teaches participants how to respond and deal effectively with all the most common injuries and illnesses that might occur either onsite or during offsite visits. The course tutor is Taff Bowles (ERYC Educational Visits and Outdoor Learning Officer) who has taught in schools and outdoor education centres for over 25 years and been a member of 3 mountain rescue teams. The courses are designed to be enjoyable, practical and hands-on, with the aim of giving leaders confidence and competence in dealing with real situations.
For schools/academies which have bought in to the Educational Visits and Outdoor Learning SLA the charge will be £95pp (including lunch/refreshments/manual/certificate)
For schools/academies which have not bought in to the Educational Visits and Outdoor Learning SLA the charge will be £180pp(including lunch/refreshments/manual/certificate.
