Education & Skills Partnership Careers Coordinators Network

Target audience:

Careers Coordinators, tutors and IAG Practitioners, and Senior Leaders with responsibility for CEIAG.

Outline of event:

Staying ahead of rapidly changing landscapes of careers presents a range of ongoing challenges including promoting effective careers teaching, successfully coordinating the work of colleagues, working with the local authority and outside agencies including employers, and developing effective tracking systems.

The aim of the network is to ensure staff are fully up to date with the national policy and local strategies, and to enhance local knowledge and experience of opportunities for young people. The network will aim to meet the needs of staff working across a wide range of range of roles including senior leaders, careers teachers, and careers coordinators and supporting staff. It will provide opportunities for sharing good practice across our wide range of training and education providers, and identifying future training needs.

It is the intention to invite key providers to each host a termly network meeting and use the opportunity to showcase their facilities and provision, thus enhancing members' local knowledge and experience of opportunities available for our young people.

Each event will be facilitated by the Education & Skills Partnership Team and have a relevant theme and/or guest speaker, details of which will be circulated in advance.

Learning and Teaching Outcomes:

Attendance will support and enable participants to:

* Understand current and local and national issues in relation to CEIAG
* Share effective practice across the partnership
* Monitor and evaluate the teaching of CEAIG
* Identify future training needs

We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes

Preparation:

1:30pm-4:00pm
Refreshments available from 1:15pm
