EYFS: Statutory Moderation Workshops
All EYFS teachers
Outline of event:
This event continues to be statutory.
We are continuing with the format for these workshops based on the successful evaluations in 2018.
The day will support practitioners in developing their assessment and moderation practice to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Current national and local assessment materials and guidance will be shared.
The session will also be an opportunity to moderate with other schools and share best practice in teaching early years.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
Complete the statutory duty of attending annual moderation training
* Gain a greater understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
* Develop effective formative assessment and moderation
* Enhance observational assessment and recording
* Develop strategies for whole staff involvement in the
* Use data effectively in school
* Ensure the continuity of learning for all children moving into Year 1
* Improve outcomes for children
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
It is essential that you bring the following with you for the EYFS Moderation Workshop:
Evidence of writing for two children - one working at Expected and one working at Exceeding (if you do not have any children at Expected or Exceeding in this ELG then please bring your two highest).
3 year trend data for EYFS Profile outcomes (including GLD)
A learning journey at expected - with evidence from the whole year to date - to share (this must be different from the one that you will be bringing for the moderation of the ELGs listed below as it will be on a separate table).
Please bring your full range of assessment evidence for a child working at Exceeding (or close to Exceeding) for these ELGs:
- Listening and Attention,
- Managing Feelings and Behaviour
- Moving and Handling
You will also need your EYFS Profile Handbook 2019 and Assessment and Reporting Arrangements (ARA) 2019.
