Primary Phonics Leadership
Target audience:
Primary Phonics Leaders
Outline of event:
This half day event is for primary teachers who are leading phonics provision and practice.
Participants will:
* consider how to effectively lead teaching and learning in phonics in their own school, including using data to track progress
* be able to identify, address and monitor key aspects of phonics as well as support colleagues in securing phonics subject knowledge
* assure the quality of daily phonics sessions
* ensure pupils are effectively applying phonics knowledge in reading and writing.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
To support phonics leaders in the management and leadership of phonics
To enable phonics leaders to ensure that all staff have a secure knowledge and understanding of phonics
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
Preparation:
Participants will have phonics assessment data, including phonics screening check outcomes, for their school.
