|Primary school support visit to work with subject leaders/middle leaders to address identified areas requiring improvement in English or mathematics
|Half day Improvement Officer support visit to work alongside subject/middle leaders in their school looking at specific provision and practice that the school has already identified as needing improvement. This could include:
* challenge in maths
* cross-curricular writing
* marking and feedback
* progress in books
* pupils' independence
The diagnostic visit will usually comprise an initial meeting to review outcomes, data, observations etc, a learning walk, book/planning scrutiny and a review meeting at the end of the visit to clarify issues and identify next steps.

|Primary school support visit to work with subject leaders/middle leaders in gaining experience and skills in monitoring and evaluating learning and teaching
|Half day Improvement Officer support visit to work alongside subject/middle leaders in their own school to undertake specific diagnostic activities that build a clear picture of provision and practice.
The visit will usually comprise an initial meeting to further discuss the focus for the visit, followed by paired diagnostic activities such as data scrutiny, classroom drop-ins, learning walk, book/planning scrutiny as appropriate and a review meeting at the end of the visit to clarify issues and identify next steps.

|Safeguarding and Child Protection training 2017/18
|A combination of generic, cluster and school-based training, guidance and support which will enable the school to fulfil its responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils.
All the following training and development units including ERSCB training are free of charge to ER LA schools and available to other schools (e.g. Academies, Independent schools) by negotiated SLA (Contact email@example.com to discuss SLA).

Open courses attended by multiple schools are scheduled for various dates throughout the year at

• Burnby Hall, Pocklington
The course is only open to East Riding Local Authority employees.
•A member of each attending school’s Senior Leadership Team, must attend the course, or must hold a current accredited Team Teach certificate. (Attendees will be required to provide the certificate number of the relevant Team Teach accredited senior leader if no member of the school’s senior leadership team are attending the course)
•A minimum of four employees from any one school must hold current, valid Team Teach certificates, or be trained at the same time.
•Upon course booking Health Awareness sheet will be provided to attending schools. All attendees must read the sheet at least two weeks prior to the course.
East Riding Local Authority Maintained Primary School employees - FREE
Other East Riding Local Authority employees - £105 per trainee
CPD course cancellation charge: the full fee will be charged if cancelled less than four weeks prior to the course start date. Cancellations must be notified in writing. Courses nominally free of charge as part of the case work service will incur a cancellation fee of £50 if cancelled less than two weeks prior to the start date.
