Primary school support visit to work with subject leaders/middle leaders to address identified areas requiring improvement in English or mathematics
Half day Improvement Officer support visit to work alongside subject/middle leaders in their school looking at specific provision and practice that the school has already identified as needing improvement. This could include:
* challenge in maths
* cross-curricular writing
* marking and feedback
* progress in books
* pupils' independence
The diagnostic visit will usually comprise an initial meeting to review outcomes, data, observations etc, a learning walk, book/planning scrutiny and a review meeting at the end of the visit to clarify issues and identify next steps.
Learning and Teaching OutcomesThe subject/middle leaders will have a clearer view of what is working well and what can be improved to address key aspects of English and/or mathematics. Next steps will be discussed and agreed to support the subject/middle leader in taking prompt action to make the changes required to improve outcomes for pupils.
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
PreparationAny relevant data, including current and prior assessment information, outcomes from lesson observations, subject action plans etc will be useful to support the visit.
