Effective Governance in a Church of England School
Governors in Church of England Schools and Academies
Outline of event:
These sessions explore the distinctive nature of Church schools and the special responsibilities of Church school Governors (including Foundation Governors). We introduce you to the Anglican school inspection framework (SIAMS) and show how governors can contribute to effective self-evaluation of Church schools.
Due to the launch of the new SIAMS Framework, which comes
into effect from September 2018, we are inviting Governors to
stay for supplementary training on what this means for Governors
(daytime sessions only).
This SIAMS briefing will guide schools through the existing
SIAMS framework and inspection process and is aimed at schools
and academies who are anticipating an inspection during the 2017/2018 academic year only. The briefing will focus primarily on the SIAMS schedule and unpacking the core questions and grade descriptors to enable individual schools to plan for inspection.
Time is made available to answer individual school questions.
