ALPS & Destination Data Governor Training - KS5
Secondary School Governors
Outline of event:
This session is aimed at governors of schools with sixth forms and colleges.
The training will focus on the importance for governors of ensuring that Sixth Form students make good or outstanding progress. It gives them a good understanding of Alps, the Advanced Level Performance System, both in terms of using their national benchmarks to set aspirational targets for teachers and students and in terms of using the reports at the start of each academic year to evaluate student progress and school and subject performance.
In line with Raising Participation Rates (RPA) there is a duty upon all year 11 leavers to continue in learning until their 18th birthday, e.g. sixth form , FE college or apprenticeship. This session will look at the destination data available, including NEETS
To ensure the session is interactive it involves a case study using selected pages from an example Alps A level and AS level reports.
Governors may also find it useful to bring copies of their own school or colleges latest ALPS report.
This event will take place at County Hall, Beverley on Monday 23 October 2017, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
