New to Phonics

Target audience:

Teachers and Teaching Assistants who are new to teaching daily phonics sessions.

Outline of event:

This event is aimed at teachers and teaching assistants working in KS1 - and teaching daily phonics sessions - who do not yet have a secure subject knowledge of phonics.

The training will also consider the expectations for daily phonics teaching and how pupils can be supported to make the necessary progress in understanding and applying phonics in reading and writing.

Learning and Teaching Outcomes:

Teachers will have improved phonics subject knowledge and be more confident in delivering high quality phonics teaching and learning.


We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
