Working towards Investors in Pupils accreditation
The designated Investors in Pupils Co-ordinator (other school leaders may find these sessions useful)
Outline of event:
These two sessions will support staff leading on Investors in Pupils as they work towards achieving the accreditation.
The programme offers schools a framework for involving pupils in decision making and developing responsibility and leadership in relation to their learning, behaviour, attendance, classroom management and induction. It is powerful in developing a positive ethos where pupils learn about how the school is run, and in turn, understand how they themselves can contribute to the running of the school. Pupils commit to common goals and teamwork – together with each other and with staff.
Investors in Pupils is an established national quality mark to recognise, develop and extend effective pupil voice and participation provision in schools and educational settings. It aims to build young people’s life skills, character and resilience. Using the Investors in Pupils framework as a school development tool increases pupil understanding and engagement, fosters good relations, pupil to pupil; pupil to adult, supports a positive whole school ethos as well as positively impacting on pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
Staff leading Investors in Pupils will have a greater understanding of the award and accreditation process.
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
The school will be required to register with Leeds City Council on the Investors in Pupil programme prior to attending the event at http://www.investorsinpupils.org.uk/schools/new
These will be made available during the sessions.
