Education & Skills Partnership Continuous Professional Development Network
Senior Leaders, Governors and specific teaching staff from Partner Organisations - 14-19 education and training providers and stakeholders serving the East Riding.
Outline of event:
The Education and Skills Partnership (ESP) is a voluntary partnership of 14-19 education and training providers and stakeholders serving the young people of the East Riding and includes 11-16/19 schools, academies, further education (FE) providers, higher education (HE) institutions, training providers, IAG services and voluntary and community organizations and Local Enterprise Partnerships. Its core purpose is to provide a forum for nurturing and maintaining effective relationships between all 14-19 providers in the interest of learners. The Partnership maintains a significant role in establishing a set of annual local priorities and outcomes for 14-19 education and training, and developing strategic approaches to the planning and collaborative delivery of education and training which meets the needs and aspirations of ALL 14-19 learners and the local economy. Additionally the Partnership provides this network for sharing and developing practice across all 14-19 sectors and partnerships facilitated by the Local Authority ESP team. More information about the Partnership and its local priorities can be found at http://eriding.eastriding.gov.uk/14-19-er-esp/
Partners have agreed to a membership Charter which asks Partners to commit to a set of shared objectives. In recognition of the shared CPD needs of Partners, the Group also agreed to the introduction of an annual subscription fee of £300.00 per organisation. This will enable the design and delivery of a fully supported, relevant programme of CPD activities for Partners, designed to meet their needs and support the achievement of the Partnership priorities. Partners will receive two free places at each of the following events:
I. minimum of 3 half-day CPD events during the 2016/17 Academic Year
ii. 3 half day Careers Co-Coordinators Network Meetings during the 2016/17 Academic Year (see separate entry on the Prospectus to book)
The aim of the network is to ensure staff are fully up to date with the national policy and local strategies, and to enhance local knowledge and experience of opportunities for young people. The network will aim to meet the needs of staff working across a wide range of range of roles including senior leaders, governors and tutors. It will provide opportunities for sharing good practice across our wide range of training and education providers, and identifying future training needs.
Each event will be facilitated by the Education & Skills Partnership Team, and have a relevant theme and/or guest speaker, details of which will be circulated in advance. The themes for each meeting will be determined by the Partnership Operational Group at the start of each academic year to support the Partnership priorities - STEM, CEIAG, Alternative Learning and reducing the FSM gap at Level 3. Members will be notified of the themes and topics in advance so that appropriate staff can be identified to attend.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
Attendance will support and enable participants to:
* Understand current and local and national issues in relation to 14-19 education and training and Partnership priorities.
* Effectively contribute towards the achievement of agreed Partnership priorities.
* Share effective practice across the partnership
* Identify future training needs
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
