Target audience:

Learning support staff working in Early Years

Outline of event:

Outline of event:
"Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential." This quote is taken from the introduction in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage: Setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five (April 2017.
This course is for nursery nurses, teaching assistants and higher-level TAs to enable them to know how to provide the best possible support.
The course focuses on:
* The EYFS statutory requirements
* The prime and specific areas of learning and development
* Looking at the unique child - EYFS Development Matters
* The Characteristics of Effective Learning
* The EYFS planning cycle - observation, assessment and planning
* The EYFS Profile
* Working with parents and carers
* The adults' role in EYFS

Learning and Teaching Outcomes:

The delegates will be more confident to "guide the development of children's capabilities with a view to ensuring that children in their care complete the EYFS ready to benefit fully from the opportunities ahead of them." This will include gaining further knowledge on the statutory framework, child development and the enabling adult role.

We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
