EYFS: New Teachers
Teachers who are new to teaching EYFS, returning to teaching EYFS after a break or NQTs starting their teaching career in EYFS
Outline of event:
This two-day course will inform and up-skill teachers to meet the unique challenges and requirements of the EYFS.
The course will cover the statutory requirements and the underpinning principles of the EYFS as well as providing valuable opportunities for delegates to network, share best practice, reflect on their teaching and build on ideas and skills that will enable them to create the best possible learning experiences for the children in their class.
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
The course will cover the following elements:
* Statutory requirements of the EYFS
* Assessment, data analysis and the EYFS planning cycle
* The 'Areas of Learning' and 'Characteristics of Effective Learning' from the EYFS Profile
* Meeting the needs of the 'Unique Child'
* Working inclusively and involving parents effectively
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
Practitioners should ensure that they have the following documents:

Development Matters (the whole document)
2018 EYFS Profile Handbook (this should be replaced by the 2019 EYFS Profile Handbook once it becomes available)
