Outline of event:
This event will explore leading governance in relation to setting direction, risk management, educational improvement, external accountability, managing and developing the board’s effectiveness.
This event will be facilitated by Julia Elliott. Julia has successfully led three primary schools and now uses her experience to work as an education consultant. Her consultancy work takes her into a variety of schools, many in challenging contexts, where she advises and supports leaders at all levels.
Julia is an experienced coach, working with over 50 school leaders, through Ambition School Leadership (formerly Teaching Leaders).
In addition to her work in British schools, Julia has experience of various cultures and systems, through her international work in education.
This event will take place at County Hall, 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Learning and Teaching Outcomes:
Governors will understand more about:
• leading the board and executive leaders in ensuring operational decisions contribute to strategic priorities
• the headteacher's report – key information
• understand the board’s role in setting and managing risk appetite and tolerance
• establishing clear expectations, lines of responsibility, monitoring systems and evaluation
We expect that all CPD will involve integral evaluation processes
