Chairs' of Governors' Training: ensuring the boards effective governance

Outline of event:
This event will explore leading governance in relation to building an effective team, managing self-review and personal skills, managing and developing the boards effectiveness.
This event will be facilitated by Julia Elliott. Julia has successfully led three primary schools and now uses her experience to work as an education consultant. Her consultancy work takes her into a variety of schools, many in challenging contexts, where she advises and supports leaders at all levels.
Julia is an experienced coach, working with over 50 school leaders, through Ambition School Leadership (formerly Teaching Leaders).
In addition to her work in British schools, Julia has experience of various cultures and systems, through her international work in education.
This event will take place at County Hall, 6.00pm to 8.00pm

Governors will understand more about:
- building an effective team and creating a culture which fosters learning and in which constructive challenge is welcomed
- ensuring effective recruitment, induction and development of governors
- improving accountability through robust performance review of the board and its committees
